No matter the time of year, baby back ribs are always a family favorite. But, during certain times of year, pork ribs can take on a whole new combination of flavors that compliment the holiday season or satifsies the rowdy sports fans! Tyson’s Chairman’s Reserve® smoked ribs are the perfect example of creating a holiday favorite with common ingredients found in your pantry. 

Smoked brown sugar and tomato paste offer the sweetness you expect from a bbq rib while chili powder and cumin add a smokey, spicy bite you want to make your taste buds tingle. Each Chairman’s Reserve® pork product is hand-selected to ensure consistent marbling and tenderness. With Chairman’s Reserve® ribs you’re left with a perfectly tender, juicy and flavorful meal.  

Simply prep your rub, grill or smoker, and then let time do the rest!

Tyson Chairman’s Reserve® Smoked Brown Sugar Chili Rubbed Ribs

Yield: 6 servings

Prep time: 40 minutes

Cook time: 4 hours 50 minutes

Ingredients

2 Racks Chairman’s Reserve® baby back pork ribs

Oak wood chips

1 (6 oz) Can tomato paste

2 tbsp. Brown sugar

2 tsp. Chili powder

1 tsp. Cumin

1 tsp. Garlic powder

1 tsp. Onion powder

2 tsp. Kosher salt

Cooking Instructions

  1. Heat a grill or smoker on low. Using charcoal, heat the coals until they become white. Soak oak wood chips in water for 15 to 30 minutes. Spread the wood chips over the coal or use a smoke box.
  2. Combine the tomato paste, brown sugar, chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, onion powder and salt in a mixing bowl.
  3. Rub the tomato mixture all over the ribs and cook on the grill until tender. During direct heat grilling, cook for about 1.5 hours, before moving to indirect heat for about 3 hours.
